Awesome book
I love the easy and straightforward process to changing your life approach. The author's style of writing is simple and straightforward to read and follow. She gives simple strategies that could give you an immediate impact on your life. It's slightly repetitive in some aspects. I haven't finished the book yet, but I've already implemented some of the instructions on a daily basis and I'm starting to see positive results.

If you overthink it, you will not take action
Thank you, Mel!What a great book.I am now finding myself counting backwards from 5 more often than I thought I would.Some of my positive actions as a result of reading your book, is now becoming a habit, where I only have to think the number "5", before I have already swung into action.To everybody else:This book is about taking action when needed, without hesitations,and, for those moments when you are about to do something that might actually harm you, to take a breather in and count to 5 backwards.You will need to read the book to understand how the "count from 5 backwards" can work in both of those seemingly opposing ways.But whatever you do, you will not regret reading "The 5 Second Rule".

Too many fillers! :(
I was originally going to give this book 2 stars but decided to give it 3 stars as I believe it benefited me more than I initially thought it would. I already knew about this rather simple 5 second rule to help end procrastination. I was however sceptical as to whether reading an entire book on it was necessary. Anyhow, as I myself was suffering from procrastination, especially in the morning when getting out of bed, I decided to give this book a read.Mel give an insight on how the 5 second rule can help you in various different aspects of your life. The ones which stood out to me most was courage and procrastination.The book is full of testimonials of people on how the 5 second rule has benefited them. The testimonials are original cutouts of social media posts. Unfortunately, some of the screenshots are blurry in the Kindle version of the book which makes them hard to read. Also, in my opinion there are far too many testimonials and repetitions inside the book which makes it a longer read than it should be.I feel as if, inspite of some invaluable information inside the book, its filled with fillers in order to make the size of the book larger and charge a higher price!

Inspiring
I’m not usually into these kind of self help books but having listened to Mel on a recent podcast, I thought I’d give this a go. I was very pleasantly surprised by it! Normally I find this genre a bit dull and a struggle to get through which then makes you feel worse because if you can’t get through the book how on earth are you ever going to make attempts to fix yourself?!It was very easy to read and is interspersed with real life stories. As I read through the it I found myself nodding in agreement to the point that I couldn’t put it down.If you’re stuck in a rut, this just might be the book you need.

Empowering, practical guide that helped me to break through hesitation and self-doubt. As someone who couldn't convince myself to get out of bed each morning, counting down from five has helped me change my narrative.

This is a LIFE CHANGING book!
I felt so connected to Mel and all her reviews, testimonies and tweets she shared it this book. I felt I am not alone in this world who struggle on things. Not only I found my courage to pursue my life and dreams again but I also found a golden rule which almost fixes everything. For any problems I life, now I just go 5…4…3…2…1…GO!!! These 5 seconds have done more for me in a week than all the previous self-help "methods" I barely applied before. And believe me, having just turned 63, I have tried quite a few.Truth be told, it's indeed simple but in no way easy.
