Good small drum!
Bought as a birthday gift for a 31 year old guy, and he is well pleased with it. Well made, good quality and a good sound to it - not too loud, so he's NOT driving his Mrs or the neighbours nuts with it.... Thanks for the speedy delivery..... Would buy again

A toy but nice to have
This is a toy, very pretty and ornamental, but not resonant. (Sorry supplier, it is now after a day or two in the open for the skin to adjust.) Comes in handy for working out favourite riffs and ok for the price (I mean, I'd rather look at this than some ghastly crystal ornamental thingy; it will blend in with all my clutter) but I'm still in search of the ideal djembe.

A little drum, perfect for indoor play.
If you have read my review on a Guiro, then you might have noticed this badman got a mention. My friends love to play music, and for years I have just sat around and listened to them play. I decided that I wanted to join in and didn't want to buy anything too extravagant. This little drum (no more than 20cm in height) was my second purchase on this cause.ALL of my friends and myself have been impressed with the quality and variation of sound that this drum can produce. I think of it as a finger or thumb drum (Such a thing might exist but that is how I think of it). The skin of the drum is about the size of my palm and it is able to fill the room with its sound. I live in a block of flats, with paper thin walls and no neighbour (especially the one underneath) has raised any sound complaints, regardless of how hard we session it.I would therefore harbour a guess that this drum would make a perfect addition to a kids play set, without overwhelming any adults in the vicinity with non rhythmic, clattered, drumming. Perfect for novices and children alike, and a fun toy for anyone who considers themselves professional. Lets not forget it's FAIR TRADE too, everyone is a winner.

Great!
My daughter has been learning how to play the African drum, so for her birthday she asked for one. Lots of fun and great for her to practice on.

No no.
I dont know why this product has such good rating. I got it as a toy for my 10 month old, but it doesnt make any drum like sound. The candy boxes sound better than this. Also the top had a peeled off portion. You can only use it as a decorative object. That if the paint isnt getting off after you have wiped it.

Great little item
Great little item. Nicely made and good sound when played. When buying these I fully recommend checking the size stated. This was a gift for a small child so the size was perfect but for an adult it would have been a disappointment.

Djembe Drum fun.
If you're in the market for a small carved Djembe drum then a) you're on the right page and b) you're looking for a niche product just like I was. I'm a fan of the carving and the drum. Double whammy, or rather Double Tappy. Buy one, you'll love it.
