The Little Drummer Boy

This book was an instant hit. It is the text of the song "the little drummer boy" accompanied by illustrations by Ezra Jack Keats. My child is completely enamored and we have to read this 3-5 times a day AND now also listen to the song about twice that amount. The book is delightful.

The words to the song are are the story in the book. Very nice pictures. The actual music is at the end. A wonderful book for children. I am very pleased with the purchase and I'm sure the little ones will enjoy it, too.

It's just the song written out, which is fine, but the illustrations are kind of blah to me. And, the book came basically bent in half from shipping in a loose box.

This is a nice arrangement. The artists have written several different arrangements that are good. This is an old one.Five stars to the sellers. The item arrived in a very timely manner and as expected.

A friend of mine has 24 Christmas-themed books that she reads to her children each night in December, preparing their hearts for the Christmas season. I thought that was a great idea, so I began collecting books, too. After reading some of the reviews on Amazon, I bought this one for my nine-month old. I love it. I sing it to him (and I'm no singer); he listens and stares at the illustrations. I love the lesson of the Little Drummer Boy, that we all have something to offer, and I hope to instill that belief in my son.

Honestly, one of my favorite Christmas books ever. I love the way it so simply tells the Christmas story (and the fact that it is in song captivates little ones) and the pictures also draw a young reader right in. I feel like the page with Baby Jesus smiling grabs my daughter every time...I see the little wheels turning for her when we read this book and I feel like it brings her into the story, which I love! She is three-years-old but we have read this book for awhile.
