Hand Painted Djembe Drum West African Bongo Drum (Height: 60cm)

The biggest surprise about this drum is that since it was delivered four days ago the price has gone up by almost £30! Glad I bought it when I did. It is a fantastic drum, beautiful design, very good quality and I'm having lots of fun (can't speak for the neighbours though!).

I bought this for my wife for christmas. It was an amazing piece of kit and she loves it. It was, however, very badly packaged. It was so badly packages that they delivery woman had to tape it up a little. It was a great perchasze but the packaging needs work.

I bought this because the other reviews were so good. It arrived swiftly and in good shape, but as soon as I heard the sound, I was very sorely disappointed. The sound is not an adequately round sound for a djembe. This is a toy. Please note that the company is called something like World Playground and I think the sellers' name has something to do with "Kids". But, for a toy drum, it is costly.The problem is this: even if this drum were for kids, it's way too heavy for a child to play properly. If the drum rests on the floor, the sound is absolutely terrible whether the player is a child or an adult. If it is held between the legs off the ground, as a djembe should be played, well, a child could never manage it. In fact, this drum is on the heavy side even for an adult. When I play this drum held properly, it does make a sound, but there isn't any warmth or variation in tone and there is absolutely no sensitivity in the material. This drum "thuds". It doesn't ring.I had thought to return this item, but the packaging makes it highly inconvenient to do so, as I'd have to repackage it myself. It does not arrive in a box. Instead, it is packed using sheets of cardboard with "FRAGILE"-marked tape wrapped all over the cardboard to hold it in place. The cardboard is also held together by three black nylon packing ribbons, which need to be cut to get to the drums.At best, this is an expensive purely decorative drum to rest on the floor. A child can bang on it and make some noise. It is heavy, though, and my guess is that, while it's likely to be too heavy to tip over, if the child is small and is mucking about, the drum could just possibly fall on the child and hurt the little one.Finally, there's a turtle pattern on the drum in the photo provided by the seller. This drum has a crocodile or alligator painted on it instead.

my daughter 12 years wanted a djembe drum after being inspired by using one at school, she chose thie one herself and tells me its great!! , its well made and quite large

Fantastic drum brought for my child for xmas. Fab price and fab delivery and would recommend to anyone :) my child is learning to play this at school do its a bonus to have one at home at a reasonable price :)
