Excellent value for the cost of huge storage
This hard drive was an excellent value for huge amounts of storage, I use it as an extra backup storage location in my backup server to store local volumes at a much faster rate than writing to tape. This is an excellent use of this drive however this drive can have many purposes since it's response times are excellent. I highly recommend this product. I have had no issues.

Perfect for a Home NAS or DAS
Edit, I had one of the 3 drives start throwing smart errors about 4 weeks after install, we'll see if they honor their warranty, so far so good! i messaged the seller on amazon they gave me an RMA label and shipped me a replacement HDD. Conclusion still stands, the savings is too good. If i was making a backup with single drive I don't know if i would trust one of these rebadged Seagate's as a stand alone, however like i said in my conclusion. If used in a raid, like raid 1 or 5 with 2 or more drives. I would rock these all day, just swap the drive if one dies, no data lose, just a little annoyance.I Bought 3 of these drives to upgrade my NAS. I was a little apprehensive considering the price difference between these and the normal brands at the same capacity. I Saw a few reviews that claimed they were rebadged Seagate Exos Enterprise drives. Can confirm that this is the case, at least for this particular batch of drives. I went through the replace drives 1 by 1 process for my QNAP NAS and everything went fine. drives recognized properly and were added to the RAID just as they should. They were a little noisy at first when initlizing but normal use they are no louder than the Seagate Barracuda compute drives that i had in my NAS beforeConclusion: I don't know if i would trust these drives if i was a business, but for the home gamer that needs loads of storage for a general purpose NAS these are great. Heck if i was a business and i have the proper amount of parity drives configured in my RAID they still might be worth the shot. i am guessing MDD worked out a deal where they get invalidated drives for a steep discount and just replace the ones that fail for the customer. As long as they stand by the warranty then its a good deal!

Lasted 6 hours
I connected it to a PC. Checked the drive and it worked. I started putting files on (was going to use it as only a backup drive) the drive and with in two hours it disappeared. Not seen again. I tried on multiple PCs with multiple os's. Didn't even click or spin up. Sent it back.

Great value
I purchased 2. Amazon shipped them together in a mylar envelope with no padding. Both hard drives tested fine with no bad sectors. Crystal Disk Info reports zero hours on the drives and reporting both to be Seagate EXOS X18 drives model ST16000NM000J.

3.3V pin warning
First off the drive I received was 18tb not 16tb. I normally wouldn't complain about getting more than I expected but this drive is going into a raid pool and must be 16tb. The label on the drive read 16tb but once it was in the system it was actually reading 18tb.This drive also came with a sata power adapter that disables the 3.3V 3rd pin to prevent a power cycle loop. This is fine but should be stated on the product listing somewhere since this drive will not work in a case that supports hot-swappable drives (because the hdd has to use the provided adapter).I had to return both drives because of these issues.
