Our Qualcast mower cable has always been shorter than our garden so over time the plug has been yanked and finally the moulding gave way. So used this new plug/socket to cut back the damaged plug/cable and extend the cable a bit. As a bonus if the plug does get yanked the 2 pin connector pulls apart first saving the plug a bit.You need to be a bit careful when stripping back the cable and wiring in the live and neutral wires as there is not much in the way of separation.I put the 2 pin connector within 3 feet of the mower so its off the ground. The 2 pin is fine but not rubberised like the ones back in to old days, and definitely not water resistant enough for dragging through damp grass - If you do not have an RCD at your house fuse box then please make sure you have one attached to the 3 pin plug.On the whole a neat way to preserve the life of a mower.

Be sensible when wiring the plug up. Possibly put the plug together and draw a line with a permanent marker pen. Also Google ways to knot the plug so it doesn't pull apart.

After mowing over the cable and severing this on my lawnmower, no damage to machine or me, thank goodness, repair it. Looked ad just joining it with the plug, then thought I would length it so I wouldn't need an extension reel type cable. This has proven to be a good idea and make life easier. This was easy to fit and is a good and strong. It has also reduced the amount of cable attachments, so I have less to get knotted up.
