For $11 this is a very sturdy, high quality, easy to clean jar. It has thick glass and I use it to ferment kombucha. The lid is plastic with a seal that fits into it, like a plastic rubber, which I believe you can also buy replacement seals if you need to. It's versatile, you can use it to ferment and carry liquids or something that you don't want to get wet or exposed since it's airtight. In all, it put on a good performance well and it's affordable so I would recommend.

I think these are a really good value for gallon size glass jars. I’ve been using them for about 10 years and broken a couple by dropping them or knocking them against something hard, but they take a lot of use and abuse before breaking, seal well, work excellent for things like iced tea or storing large amounts of spices. I think they’re a good value and I definitely recommend them.

Nice 1 gallon jar. When it arrived the box looked too small for such a large jar but it’s definitely a 1-gallon jar. The lid is a good sturdy plastic lid I’m pleased

Great jars for making sun tea, collecting change, planting terrariums, storage, etc.. I'm making terrariums and the size is perfect for that. Customer service at North Mountain was great. I ordered two jars and one was broken when it arrived but I went to their website immediately to order a replacement. I followed the procedure and they quickly replied and sent out the replacement. I do question the packing of the original two jars. They were in thin cardboard with no packing material at all and then the boxes were placed in a thin paper bag. The boxes were marked fragile but they were inside a bag which was not marked fragile.

This jar is exactly what I needed for brewing kombucha! The wide mouth makes it easy to clean and add ingredients, and the glass works well for fermentation. The black plastic lid fits securely, though I use a breathable cover for brewing. For the price, it’s a fantastic deal—simple, well-made, and versatile. Whether you’re fermenting, storing, or canning, this jar is a great choice!

Purchased 3 times Last purchased Jul 19, 2024 (5 star review - update below) I have nothing bad to say about this product. I’ve purchased three of them already and I’ll continue to purchase them as long as they continue to stay affordable. In this economy, it’s nice to find things that are still financially feasible and great quality. Highly recommend great product great price. I paid $11-12 each time03/28/2025 (4 stars)- not happy about the increase in price considering how many times I’ve purchased this product throughout the years. I will not be purchasing until the prices go down. Still great quality good product. But I can no longer afford to purchase anymore. A lot of companies are really taking advantage of hiking prices, I appreciate a company that continues to be consistent with price. Hopefully things improve. Still satisfied with the product. Just don’t think I’ll be purchasing unless the prices go down. But until then I cannot purchase :(

Very nice jar. Lid screws on well. Would prefer a metal lid, but the plastic is okay.

Been using this to make kombucha. It works great. No issues thus far with breaking or cracking. Cleaned in the dishwasher just fine. Haven't used the lid. Great 1 gallon jar for the price.
