These ground screws are very weak. They will work in a nice soft lawn, but anything even a little bit hard will destroy the teeth. IF you just need something to hold down a tent in your backyard, these are OK. But you will be much better off with standard metal pegs or plastic tent pegs..

I use these tie-downs for holiday inflatables (Santa Claus, Thanksgiving turkeys, etc) in our front yard. The stakes that come with inflatables are unsatisfactory because: (1) The screw-in types are usually metal spirals that bend if I am trying to force them into dry dirt; and (2) The hammer-in types either pull loose if we have wind-and-rain together, or I can't drive them into dry hard dirt. These Liberty designs always go into dry dirt (using the enclosed steel rod as a "wrench") and always hold tight until I un-screw them. The holes and wing at the top ensure that the tie-down string does not come loose until I take them loose.

Love these little anchors. Probably not suitable for campsites that have gravel pads, but haven't tried that yet. They work great in the soil. I have used them on my garden to stabilize my bean and tomato stakes and they worked great.

Perfect for my needs.
