photo not very descriptive!
the part that goes inside the shoe does need to be inside as it is the same bright colour as the lace and is quite long. I had to cut them down because my trainers have metal hoops for lacing not holes. It's not really clear from the product picture that this would be a problem. They are also quite a loose fit,m I used the smallest available and my shoe is pretty loose, I'm hoping that they don't stretch as I will start walking out of my shoe!
