Caution...Troubling side effect
I had this twice ground up with food. Both times I felt like I had been drugged. Slept for hours like one would after taking heavy pain killers.. Also my dog had digestive upset at the same time. Not sure what the issue is with this, maybe some kind of contamination..? When I researched negative effects there was a mention of possible cyanide in these seeds....Afraid to try another batch. quantity taken was less than recommended...Good luck if you decide to try them...Just felt I should warn folks. On the plus side, Amazn did refund my money..

Excellent quality
I’m happy with this product. The date stamp was smudged so I called the company. The customer service representative picked up on the second ring and was helpful/friendly/resourceful.Amazon orders a lot, she said, and it is usually on back order. The shelf life is 4 years - so mine are fresh and will not go bad before I use the entire 96 ounces. She elaborated on the quality - organic, USA grown, all packaging in USA. Begin in business 17 years.I ground a cup to sprinkle on yogurt and add to my almond meal pancakes.I haven’t tried to make crackers with them — which is another way I use flax seeds. After I do I will report back to you.Still haven’t gotten around to making flax crackers, however I have made pancakes with these flax seeds and they were delicious. I ground them in my instant pot blender (which I love) added to almond meal, baking soda, eggs and half and half and pan fried in ghee — very delicious. In the past, I’ve used the brown flax seeds because, according to nutrition labels, the brown variety have more nutrients. But, maybe that’s ok. I eat a lot of nutritious foods. Maybe for now - and it might take a year for me to use up these flax seeds taste wins out. Also, I have considered buying another 96 ounce contain from this distributor. Who knows what the future holds and flax is a great staple.

No complaints. FYI, needs grinding or soaking
for those unfamiliar with Flax seeds, you need either a grinder or to soak them. A small blade-powered coffee grinder works well. For soaking, put in a bowl, add water to cover + several inches. Stir roughly every 4 hours (will be ready after 4 hours, but 8h is better. They will turn gelatinous, completely different than ground (and definitely don't grind them after soaking or you'll have quite a mess).

Great YUMMY product!
Love the mild nutty taste of these! Please be aware that you need to GRIND your flax in order to get the health benefits and keep the ground flax in your fridge in an airtight container. Otherwise it’s worthless (do your research). But oh do I love this product! Container is about the size of a 5lb sack of flour and has a screw tip lid. After reading about flax omega 3’s compared to fish oil, in switched over to 2 tablespoons (one am, one pm). Cheaper, yummier way to get the GOOD omega 3’s without all the pro inflammatory omega 6’s.

seeds went RANCID in 5 months
I bought them March 9. On July 25 the seeds were rancid. They are supposed to stay good for years. I wonder how many years old these seeds were when I got them? They were stored in a dark room temperature pantry. The smell is of rotten fish. I ground a 1 cup batch and have flax crackers in the oven. The smell is strong and nauseating, enough so that I’m here warning you not to buy these flax seeds.

Premium Gold Organic Whole Flax Seed
I am giving the flax itself a 5 star rating. I opened it, smelled it, ground some as I usually do, and tasted it. All passed with flying colors. The only downside is that it comes in plastic, and I am trying to reduce my use of items that cannot be recycled. I re-store many food item in various sizes of glass canning jars with sealing lids. I find that doing this, and then storing in a cool dark place (basement) preserves food items well, and allows me greater latitude to buy in bulk.

Really good!
My first container of the seeds were good and enough for using for 15 mo's. Now I've ordered a second.Use it in baking, a lot for smoothiies, for nuts mix, for taking some meds, since the seeds will create a protective layer in the stomach. This is very good, especially for women after some certain years of living on the Planet:))Usually I mill some amount of the flax seeds and the rest of the container keep at the freezer.I like, that the product is American and organic. Thanks, guys!

Best Flax Seed Deal
We subscribe to this organic flax seed. It is generally the highest quality but we have had one instance of poor quality (i.e., had many black particles) and see variances in quality from month to month. Amazon quickly shipped us replacement for the poor quality instance that was excellent. The overall quality and good price make this an excellent value. We heartily recommend Premium Gold Flax Seed!
