Okay vent...when it works. Motor bearings failed twice after only ~1 year of use. No longer usable. Do not buy

This is the third time in 4 years that the electronics have gone out. GErep replaced electronics twice but it’s too “old” now for further work. I wouldn’t buy this item again.

Very nice hood.It moves a lot of air even on LOW.Lights are two brightness levels. BRIGHT is very bright. DIM is a nice mellow glow.Somewhat noisy. Not a problem to me I expect this from a unit that moves this much air..At this price point there are a few glaring deficiencies that shouldn't exist.The obnoxiously confusing instructions need to be model specific or separated into sections for every model. The assembly manual that shipps with this hood has several different personalities and it's up to you to determine which one is the right one. One shouldn't need a 5 year Mechanical Engineering degree to decipher how to install a so-n-so range hood. I gave up and did it by braille. It turned out nicely enough but I've installed more than one range hood.The knockouts for the filter grids needed to be massaged with needle files to make the filter grids slide in and out and allow the latches to fully close.GE needs to re-think the way they immobilize the motor and squirrel cage for shipping. Possibly just ship with the motor and fan nestled in a separate box with installation left to the installation tech. Mine arrived with the fan cage off center with the housing causing it to rub. I had to dis-assemble the fan and re-assemble with it re-aligned to the housing along with doing some mild body work on the sheet metal on top that's hidden from the unwashed masses by the bottom of my kitchen cabinets.

POS. Instructions covers the 9 items in this series - and are too vague and thereby worthless. For example, it says take out a flat head screwdriver for "duct knockouts." Yea - I got five stiches trying that. For vented installations - it says "On some models" do this, "On some models" remove it. Okay - doesn't designate which model! Machining on the screws for the top exhaust adapter don't line up. Got it w/ two screws (screws were mine as the ones designated didn't fit). Charcoal filter - doesn't say if I need it or not. Remove the junction box - okay: why? Doesn't say to put it back on! "Electrical knock out" doesn't exist. How do I feed the wires?? And - Oh: takes 10 minutes claim is BS. It'll take 10 days to get my stiches out!
