Great Budget Electric Chainsaw
I've used it for probably 10 hours thus far and no issues. It's obviously significantly slow than other more mainstream electric chainsaws but it cuts just as good. I've cut and wedged trees standing and fallen at least 12 inches in diameter. Battery holds a decent charge as well and charges pretty quickly. Would recommend getting a second battery if you plan to cut for a few hours at a time.

Great Chainsaw with Outstanding Customer Support
I purchased this Greenworks chainsaw to help with pruning trees around my yard. On the first use, it performed really well and ran for about an hour without any issues. However, during my second use, the sprocket unexpectedly came apart.I contacted Greenworks support, and since the chainsaw was still under warranty, I expected they’d send a replacement part. To my surprise, they went above and beyond — they offered to send me a brand-new unit instead! While the actual product issue seemed minor, it had the potential to become a serious safety concern. The failure happened while a branch was only half-cut — a dangerous situation where no one should be standing underneath the tree.Thankfully, the replacement arrived quickly, and I was able to finish the job safely and without further issues. So far, so good — the new unit works great, and I’m very impressed by Greenworks’ excellent customer service. It’s rare to see a company stand so firmly behind its products.Highly recommended!

Suprisingly powerful and quality piece of equipment. If you're humble and patient.
It'll likely get what you need chopped down chopped down. Largest tree/branch I've done was 6" give or take. Now if the thing is tall and it has weight it can and likely will pinch the chain making it slip up and you have to pry it out from the wood as well as "re-chaining" the whole thing which it does require fairly often. It's frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it you can usually get it "good to go" in under a minute or two. I would recommend buying a second pair of chains in tandem with this purchase. Mine is still good but I see why people do. The tensioning is fairly annoying, though. I've never not gotten it to work with enough messing around but sometimes the thing just doesn't catch and you do everything right but then when you push the button to operate it, something doesn't catch and the motor just spins without operating the chain. See, that's annoying. That's why I changed it from 5 star to 4. But, eventually, again, with patience and re-doing it until it does catch, it functions. So the chain adjustment is the most annoying part, from my relatively light use of this product. But it definitely cuts. So the power is a good aspect. Just again, be humble with what it is and don't expect to fall anything too large. (It actually might, with the right technique but certainly not just going straight through with the weight of the tree on top of the thing). Definitely be careful when adjusting the chain, there's this annoying metal piece (required obviously) that they only give you one of, and if you drop it somewhere you can't retrieve, the thing is useless until you get a new one. Also buy Bar & Chain oil (required to operate, if you're a newbie like me you might not have known) and thought you bought something that you can operate right out of the box as-is (which you can't).

Another Quality Greenworks Product.
I own several Greenworks products, they make a high quality product at a reasonable price. (This little chainsaw is another example of that.) Tons of torque and zips right through limbs. I own two 40Volt tools by Greenworks, giving me the capability of having the two battery packs to swap out and use with this Chainsaw and now a 40V Lawnmower. Very pleased. I now have zero hesitation on purchasing any of their products. You will not be disappointed.

Would Not Buy Again
I have an older Greenworks chainsaw (16" bar 40V) that is at least 6 years old and still going strong. I purchased this one to use while working in the tree tops to prune branches since it is half the weight of the full size one. The first thing I noticed while attaching the bar and chain, is the fit of the chain to the sprocket required a bit of fiddling (not the case with my older Greenworks). The chain did not mesh smoothly between the sprocket and the bar, I had to wiggle the bar just so to get the chain to run smoothly between the sprocket and the bar. The problem "appears" to be the gap between the sprocket and the bar is a bit too wide, however, with some moving the bar around I was able to get the chain to operate smoothly. The more serious problem is the battery life. My older 40V holds a better charge than this new one. I would expect this 40V pushing a smaller bar and chain (12") to at least be as good as the older one on my 16" bar, but not the case. The body of the chainsaw does not have the solid feel of my older one and the bar adjustment is not as robust. Overall, battery quality, and build quality inferior to my older greenworks.

It does a great jo.
Best chain saw I have had. It is a great value for the money. It has no oil leakage and is easy to use. Long lasting power.

Decent for what it is...I wouldn't attempt to cut a tree down with this thing.
Meh...it's alright at best. Chain speed seems super slow...which makes the saw kinda jump around when entering the cut. That said...I guess it's fairly decent. Bought it to have an easy alternative to firing up the big stihl to cut up deadfall...for that purpose, it's acceptable.
