Fun way to talk about emotions with little ones
My boy loves puzzles but so many are only letter, number, or animals at his stage. I wanted something different and thought this would be a great opportunity to expand and ask questions. He had recently watched an episode of Mayta that talked about breaking toys and it was ok to be sad so the broken airplane with the sad emotion was a great way to bridge and make the connection. Some of the faces can be a little not clear in my opinion or easily confused for another but they tried to account for that by including indicators on the cards like the appearance of shaking on the nervous face or a question mark on the confused. The pieces themselves are made like a thick cardboard puzzle and have held up well though definitely keep that in mind if there are liquids nearby. I introduced this to my boy with only a few cards and my wife and I have been building on that by adding a few more each couple of days. This way it gives us more of an opportunity to talk about the emotion for what is on the card and why you might feel that way next steps, affirming its ok, etc.. For instance: Sad/broken toy. Why is the boy sad? Talking about the toy being broken. Affirming it is ok to feel sad. You can try to fix the toy, learn we need to be more gentle with our toys, etc... This is a great toy, and learning opportunity.

Size not correct
These shorts fit more like a medium than a large. I'm wearing them as pajamas rather than shorts.

Great for "WH" questions and social cues
This is such a wonderful tool to use with children with autism. One of the main challenges for many children with autism is unawareness of social cues and body language. These cards have a picture of body language that can be paired with a facial expression. This is an invaluable learning strategy being we speak more with our bodies than our mouths. The opposite side has the facial expression and a corresponding picture that relates to the facial expression. Ex. There is a "sick" expression and a picture of a "hospital". This pairing can be used as prompts for two questions. First- Where do we go when we feel sick? Second-Why do we go to the hospital? This set up is wonderful as some children have difficulty understanding "WH" questions. I absolutely love this set. They cover daily emotions such as tired, happy, and angry; as well as more advanced emotions such as worried, jealous, and confused. I highly recommend for use with neuro-typical as well as neuro-diverse children.

Helping Kids Decode Emotions Through Play
This puzzle is really a group of puzzles depicting emotion-words and pictures of facial expressions showing what the emotion-words mean. Each two-piece puzzle helps a child to identify feelings based on the non-verbal sign of expression. For young children and those with autism, this simplicity and clarity is helpful. We have used these in my class of fourth- and fifth-grade students to help our nonverbal students help us understand how they are feeling so we can help them. The price is right, and the value is high. I recommend it!

Nice introductory set for my preschooler
This a nice small set of emotion cards to start introducing different emotions and feelings to little kids. Not overwhelming. The pictures are clear with regards to depicting the different emotions. Without looking at the label, one is able to tell quite well one emotion from another. The puzzle format makes it interesting for little ones to learn about these emotions. Because only one side is labeled, there are a few different ways you can play and learn. For example, you can have your child look at the labeled side and have them pick out the right facial expression to match. The only improvement I would suggest is the fit of the puzzles. Most of them do not fit easily. You have to push hard to get the pieces to stay together. For a child they might think they got the wrong answer. The quality control can be better here.

Educational
My son is really into talking about feelings so he really enjoys these puzzles. The pieces are good quality. Pieces fit together easily. It comes with a little bad to put the pieces in, but I keep them in the box for now.
