I purchased this for my GoPro Hero 8 so I could mount it on the hood of my truck and make a video of driving down country roads in the fall. I was worried a suction cup might let loose. This magnet is strong but the rubber coating prevents damage to your paint. Obviously it only works on steel so it won’t work on the aluminum hood of a newer f-150. But it works great on my Tundra.

Holds like a rock to the vehicle.Hand tightening seems good enough though I may place a drop of blue thread lock on the through screws and dry before using again. Helps to stop vibration loosening.
