Perfect for home studio
I used this soundproof panels in my home studio. The recordings are much better than my previous soundproff panels.

6 dB reduction!
Like many these days, I work from home and have built a nice little home office now. My job requires daily video calls with clients and I've heard from a few that my audio sounds like it has an echo. I added some of those hexagonal dense felt tiles to the wall behind me but later realized that's the opposite of where I should have placed them. They remarkably add a lot of echo reduction to your ear in the room, but it didn't translate in my conference audio. That's when I realized I completely forgot that the first surface your voice hits is the most important to control. That's why super high end recording booths use a parabolic shaped hood behind the mic, it controls all the unwanted initial reflection. Duh! That's where these panels come in.First, they're the perfect size for my situation facing into a corner of the room. I spaced 3 vertically on the primary reflection wall and 1 horizontally on the side wall. It also flowed with the clock I already had on that wall. The panels are very well made and the covering is wrinkle free on all flat surfaces. There's a few corners that are less than perfect, but nothing I can't live with. The fiberglass feels like the type I've seen in professional studios. I first tried sticking the panels up with 1/3 of the tape they come with but that was not enough hold so I had to use all the tape each panel comes with and they've been holding for a few weeks no problem now.As far as performance goes, they are incredible! I listened to meeting recordings before and after the panels were installed and it's night and day. There's zero echo sound now and my voice sounds richer. The other nice bonus is that when I'm listening to music, the sound is richer now too. My little bluetooth speaker feels like it just got an SPL upgrade!I have a dB meter and did a before and after test. While not the most scientific, I took a lot of care in ensuring that the meter and I were in the same position for both before and after. Same with the setting, I didn't touch anything else in the room, I did everything I could think of to keep the panels as the only variable. I set the meter 6 feet to my side and 4 feet behind me. This put the meter in the best place to catch the reflection off the wall the panels are on. I set the meter to capture max values during each test. I said the words "Test, Test, 1, 2, 3, then clapped three times. Before install, it registered 57.4 dB. After install and saying the same words and clapping 3 times, it maxed at 51.1 dB, so just over a 6 dB reduction in the reflected noise! Wow! These panels trap the noise, no doubt! If you need a more professional and actually effective solution than those compressed egg crate style black squares, this is for you. They're well made and I'm blown away by their performance!

Quality acoustic panels that help control noisy room reflections in any space
Having a well acoustically treated space is important for music production, theater/movie rooms, or for just giving a room a “warmer” more comfortable feel to the space. Acoustic panels like these are used to help eliminate slap-back and flutter echoes from hard parallel surfaces walls/floors/ceiling.These panels are good for absorbing a broader range of high to mid frequencies due to the 2” thickness of them, and they are much more elegant than the cheap foam panels.Using multiple kinds of acoustic treatments in a room is important for addressing the various issues that come with critical listening spaces or recording spaces. They do come with adhesive backing but I do not suggest using it if you plan to take them down, or are concerned that the adhesive may potentially damage the wall paint/drywall. I have other acoustic panels that have the same adhesive backing and I chose to use 3M “Command Stips” on the back (right over the peel-off plastic back) to secure them to the wall. This will make it easy to remove the acoustic panels from the wall without damaging the surface that they are mounted on.Acoustically treating a room is the most important thing to do if you’re looking to get the best sound from studio monitors/loud speakers or live music performances. Acoustic treatment is pretty expensive for the really well built acoustic panels. These panels can effectively help clean up the high and mid frequencies, and reduce the reflections of the room. Placing them strategically on walls (in key positions where sound will bounce off of), will make a noticeable difference in the room’s overall “vibe”. A cleaner sonic space where sound, music, and dialog is much easier to hear and enjoy. For recording studio applications, acoustic treatment for control of room reflections is required. Without properly treated rooms, multi-track recordings end up with layers of room noise /artifacts that ruin the overall mix. Often treating a recording studio room effectively will require a significant amount of acoustic treatment to bring the room under control from a range of frequencies. Panels like these can be placed throughout the room on walls/ceiling, and thicker panels (4”+ thickness) referred to as “bass traps” put in the corners of the room. I’ve found that having a room that is “dead” (a lot of acoustic absorption panels throughout) is preferred over a more “live” room with minimal treatment. The recorded tracks can always be shaped in the mix with effects such as reverbs and delays.Over the years I have found myself placing acoustic panels throughout my living space in different rooms to have an overall better feel to the room making conversation and sonics much more pleasant and enjoyable. These are good panels to include in most any acoustic treatment application.

Superior to foam -
.Quality manufacturing. Fiberglass panels are a greater value over foam. The greater density will absorb more than double what foam is capable of. I find these panels to be a big value for the quality offered. Especially as a matching set.
