I had my nails dipped at the salon. They felt heavy and began lifting after the first week. They also damaged my nails which surprised me because I was told dip is the least damaging.I bought this kit because the salon wasn't for me. This was my first time and it was so easy and quick. It probably helped that I had mine done professionally and I was able to watch and learn. It comes with instructions, which were simple.The first layer was the more pink color and the second layer was the glitter. I did not do a third layer.I cannot comment on the longevity, but I will say my nails are split, peeled, cracked, and disgusting under this dip and you cannot tell. They're nice and hard and strong so I won't worry about the splits and cracks ripping my nail off, literally.I bought a drill and cleaned up any mess. It made the skin around my nails smooth. So, definitely get a drill if you don't have one. I put cuticle oil on and some lotion for aftercare.

I love this product! You don't have to be a professional to have your nails done, it's very easy to use and make my nails look like I went to the salon.

This kit is great for just starting out and trying to do dip nails at home. I love the neutral colors. They don’t last super long compared to when I’ve gotten my nails done at a salon. After a few weeks of re-doing them, I’d say they last about a week if you’re careful, but I’ve had them chip or fly off completely when doing things (like putting away laundry) after only a day or two. So now I’m just prepared to fix a nail or two every couple of days. They look really nice though once you practice a little.

I was so shocked when I opened these. I didn't know a nail cutter came with this kit, and if you look on the right of the pic, you'll see those cutters laying on top. I especially like them, because they are small, and work better for the job they do. They are stainless steel, and very nice. I am just now beginning to wear fake nails, because I work in a lab, and know what germs are just floating in the air. I have bought a lot of rings very recently, and I'd like to have nice nails to go with them. I actually enjoy putting them on. It takes awhile, but I'm getting quicker. I bought some stuff from Dollar Tree, and I even bought a nail drill, so I don't have to worry about it being thicker one side, it's any easy fix with the drill. All in all I spent about $100. Unless my math is wrong it's about 5 visits the cost of going to have them done, so hat's really economical as well. Ive picked up all kinds of art things to do. I am pleased with this kit for sure. The value of it was better for the price in every comparison way that I saw. I am a bargain shopper. I like nice things, but sometimes I also like to treat myself to certain things I like, but I'm going to get the best price. Sometimes I'm unable to compare certain things because there's nothing else like it, to even compare, but I sorta figure it out in my head. I always try to leave reviews, because I take that into consideratin as well, and the shipping speed matters to me. I would not wait on this to be shipped even if it cost 10 times or more, in the past 3 weeks I have bought 31 rings off ebay, and that's the whole reason I want to make my hands look nicer. I am a bargain shopper, and I try to comment if something's really good for the price like this kit. Because I know when I'm thinking about buying something I definitely read the reviews. Shipping speed is also factored in. When I don't want to wait, I go through every item, put the ones that are the lowest price in my cart, and when I'm done I compare them all, and I know I saved a lot of money doing it. It's like Christmas coming home from work with a porch full of packages. If you're on the fence about doing it too, just go ahead,, you'll really like this kit! I've bought three of these nail kits and each one has had a defective/solidified gel top coat. I love the colors and ease of use, but the powder base/activation coat doesn't last more than a few days without the gel coat. I tried other brands of gel coats with the powder base/activation coat but the gel coat never sets. Which means the whole kit is useless without the gel coat on top. To make matters worse my nails are brittle and removing the bottom coats after just applying them, even after soaking them in 100% acetone, causes the top layer of my nails to flake off.The last kit I received was today 3/11/2025 and the top coat was completely solidified again! I'm returning it for a replacement and will update when I receive it.Update 3/14/2025:I received the replacement kit and the gel top coat is completely normal and fluid. I really like these kits but only having 1/4 kits with a normal fluid gel top coat feels like taking a gamble to purchase and I'm not a gambler. So while I won't purchase these kits in the future, I am happy I can at least use the kits I already have a couple of times.
