Review for Grapplers: Good minimalist option; Consider sizing down.
Excellent rash guard for grapplers looking for a minimalist, good quality, fairly-priced rash guard. If you want a tight compression fit with minimal folds/wrinkles, consider sizing at least one size *down* with respect to the size chart. I'm ~175lbs with a ~42" chest and prefer a tight fit with some, but minimal, wrinkling. The medium fits me best in this regard. (I ordered XL, L, and M, and returned what was too large.)Comparing this rash guard with those at higher price points, these have thinner material, and there is not a dedicated band in the bottom of the shirt to prevent ride-up. If you have short arms like me, you may find the sleeve lengths a bit long, but there's not much to be done about that with long-sleeved rash guards, even with those at higher price points.Posting this review because many reviewers here have recommended sizing up, evidently for water sports etc. or for folks who don't like compression fits. Adding a grappling/BJJ point of view to maybe save some folks some time and cash. Hope this helps.

Looking for a Rash Guard to take on vacation or in the water? Look no farther, this is the one.
First let me say that I am a size Med in things like T-Shirts but in dress and casual shirts a large. 5’-11, 160lbs, 43 Chest, 34 Waist, 16x34 Shirt. After reading some of the reviews I decided on a size Large in Char Grey, and I am glad I did. It was plenty tight on my torso, (see the pic) but still easy to get on and off. I am very sure that a medium would have been like super skin tight and not what I was looking for. Also, if you are tall, no worries, the sleeves are about 36" long. I purchased this Rash Guard shirt to take with us on a cruise in the Galapagos and it was definitely the perfect choice. This shirt is a heavy weight spandex type fabric and I ended up wearing this shirt every day, on the zodiacs, in the water snorkeling and swimming, and to keep the hot equator sun off. The water temp in May was mostly around 76 and this shirt made it comfortable for me in the water. I washed it every afternoon when we got back to the ship and it was dry and ready to wear by morning, and still looks like new. I can pretty much tell you that any future travel plans, with water involved, will include me taking this shirt with us.

so his shirt is fine. My son loved the pool
If in doubt, size it up. I bought two, one for my husband and one for my teen, and got a large for the teen and XL for my husband. The sizes were right on, but I was inclined originally to buy M and L; those would not work. The one complaint I have is the color durability: You see this rich saturated color of a new shirt? Well, dip yourself in the pool for awhile, and the color will fade into this grey-ish tone. My husband did not go into the pool, only the ocean, so his shirt is fine. My son loved the pool, so his shirt is now blue-ish at the colar, but grey/faded from the collar down. I did rinse it, etc., etc., after each day at the beach - nothing helped. So if appearance is important to you and you plan on spending your days in pool water, buy something else. For us, sun protection was more important, which is why I gave this product 4 stars rather than 3 or fewer. The color fading may be a huge drawback for some folks.

A well-constructed bargain
It is unusual for me to give five stars but this product is heads and shoulders above its competitors.I ordered these as a base layer for my work uniform and after reading the reviews, decided a medium men's size was suitable because I did not want compression style but preferred a snug comfort fit (5 foot 9 in, 160 lbs, taller, broader shoulders and longer arms than average female). The shirts are much longer in the waist than I am used to given the typical short-waisted feminine trends but remains suitable for my active job.Stitching was flawless with excellent 4-way stretch and the fabric quality made me a little jealous because I wish I had access to such nice fabric. This is not your ordinary thin stretch fabric.Thank you for such quality and I look forward to ordering again in the future.

Not great for lap swimming
It could be that this product is not intended for chlorine pools, but I can say that mine hasn't held up well in a normal public swimming pool where I swim laps. I go about twice a week, and I probably swam in it for about 13 weeks, making it almost 30 times that I've worn it. I rinse it and run it through a spinner after every swim, which isn't a very abrasive process. Nevertheless, the sewing started coming undone after only a couple weeks, so that now one of the threads has come undone at the bottom of the shirt about a quarter of the way around. The material is also wearing thin in the back, so that it's see-through. Most speedos I've worn have held out longer than that.I was originally very pleased with the shirt. I heeded the few people that wrote reviews saying to get a size too big. Mediums normally fit me well, so I got a large. It was skin-tight on my torso, but the sleeves are a little long, which is fine. I was mostly concerned that it not be too tight, and it wasn't.

Go at least one size bigger.
I bought this shirt according to their size chart, i am 5 feet 4 inches tall, male, weigh 120 lbs, and i am 61 years old, i believe i should have bought a medium, that is my preference, i am very slim, for me at least it was somewhat small, but ok still, medium would have been better than the small that i bought. So anyone who is my size and weight, i believe a medium would be better.

Awesome - protects from sun and might make you faster too.
I hate wearing extra clothes in the water... just seems weird, BUT even while swimming for exercise only a half hour 2x a week, I'm getting too much sun. (I live in South Florida). This shirt fits me perfectly, like a skin, and does not bother me. I followed the fitting measurement guidelines. To top it off, I seem to be slightly faster when swimming with it. Only about 4% faster but measurable so far. I think this is because I'm naturally hairy (no back hair :-D) and the shirt effectively provides a smoother surface for the water flowing by. Crazy stuff. I got it to block the sun while I swim for exercise. I did not expect it to make me slightly faster but that is a fun extra benefit.Quality seems good, I like the look of the seams, but I'm not yet completely sure of the quality since it needs more use and so far I've only used it about 5 times. If it starts to fall apart prematurely I'll comeback and downgrade the rating - but for now 5 stars.
