Rain tarp for all of your hamocking needs!
My boyfriend and I just moved to Portland, Oregon, but we don't want the rain to interfere with our camping hamocking time. We both have Legit Camping double hammocks and bring them everywhere with us! So when I saw that Legit Camping came out with a rain tarp I jumped at the opportunity. It has actually been really sunny in Portland the past few days (we were surprised too!) so we haven't had the chance to test out this rain fly yet. I did set it up over my camping hammock today and it is definitely large enough to completely protect a Legit Camping double hammock from the rain (or I imagine it would be pretty effective at shading the hammock during those hot summer days). It comes with 4 sturdy, lightweight pegs and 6 pieces of rope. The pegs and rope come in a separate little bag (much like how it is organized for a tent), they fit into the slightly larger bag with the tarp... it does take a little maneuvering but it all fits well and I liked the compact size of the entirety of the product. In all it is roughly the size of my camping hammock (see picture, hammock is orange and gray is tarp).Along with multiple other reviewers, I really wish that instructions had been included with the tarp. I love the simplicity of the Legit Camping hammock and was hoping that this would be similar. I went to use it in a park today, and so I wasn't able to look up instructions online like I would at home. From what I understand, there is a lot of flexibility with how you set it up, so maybe instructions weren't included so that you could set it up however you think is best, but if you don't have much experience with tarps like this I would definitely recommend looking up some directions before you set out to use it.As with all of my other Legit Camping products, I am very impressed with the quality of this tarp. It seems very well constructed and sturdy. We am looking forward to using this not just for use of our camping hammocks but for anything that we want to do outside but can't do because of the rain.FYI - I got a promotional deal on this tarp for trying out this product and writing my opinion. I have been so impressed with Legit Camping gear in the past that I was excited to get the chance to try another. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a good sturdy rain tarp!

Great camping rain tarp. Not just for hammocking
I bought this rain fly to review it in comparison to the eno rain fly I already have. I stretched them both out together and I have to say I love the extra coverage of my new legit tarp the normal square shape is nice to have vs the eno square star shape that has less material making it lighter (1 lb 7 oz eno) vs (1 lb 13 oz legit w/o stakes) but the extra material I can see coming in handy for those extra rainy trips. I also see a need to carry this legit tarp on trips out motorcycling and over landing in the future. As for the build of the tarp itself I can say the quality nearly matches that of the eno. Ripstop nylon on both but eno takes the win if I’m being totally honest in total quality. The legit is slightly plasticy feeling vs a more durable rubber feel to the eno. But when the eno is twice the price this small detail is easy to overlook. The stitching is great and lots of loops for proper securing is a great touch. It was a little hard to get back in the stuff sack but it went in with a lil elbow grease. The only thing I’d like to see Change is drop the stakes and make the stuff sack a tiny bit bigger. This will be my GO TO for camping now because of the great coverage and it’ll now match my legit hammock that I don’t leave home without.

Great Quality at a Competitive Price
I just received my Legit Rain Fly, and I love it. I have been waiting to find a good rain fly at a reasonable price. Like with the other Legit products it has the same high quality at a really competitive price. The four aluminum stakes that come with it seem like they may not hold up to really rocky soils, but I bought an extra set of heavy duty stakes for my backpacking tent that will work nicely for this purpose. Other than that minor critique, I love the new rain fly. I am definitely going to buy one for my husband too. I can't wait to take our hammocks camping and not have to worry about if it might rain on us or not. I've seen in other people's review that they also mention the excellent customer service from this company and that is something that I have been really impressed as well.

Just arrived today and it was a beautiful day in Colorado so I set it up in my backyard. The tarp is large with 9 loops sewn into it, comes with 4 stakes and 6 adjustable ropes and can be setup in many configurations. I The first time I tied the center top ends to trees and staked the 4 corners down like a pup tent. It worked well and would be great for backpacking. Hanging it higher in the tree and replacing the 4 stakes with ropes would work well covering my Legit hammock as a rain fly. The second configuration I staked one side down and used 4 ropes, two on the center end and two on the end corners to make a wind break and rain roof. It also worked great. The stitching looks good and so does the quality of the tarp, loops, ropes and stakes. It was easy to refold the tarp and put it back into the stuff sack and also comes with a small sack for the ropes and stakes.I did tie knots on the end of the ropes to avoid fraying. It is small enough to put into my hiking day pack just in case of a sudden downpour and I will also bring it backpacking. Legit Camping works hard to make good products and to earn your business.

Excellent Rain Fly Not just for Hammocks
I have bought hammocks and strap sets from Legit Camping both have been great. They always follow up with an email to see if you need any help and to remind you to register your product for the lifetime warranty. This rain fly is great. It comes is a nice stuff sack. Inside it the fly, stakes and the ropes. The stakes and the ropes have a bag as well which is a nice touch. I was able to get the fly folded and back into the bag which was nice sometimes it's hard to get a tent or rain fly back in the bag again. The material is light but sturdy. This is going to make a nice addition to our camping setup. It could even be used over a tent in rainy weather. Actual size is 10 by 10 feet.
