The EA-6B Prowler began service with the United States Navy in 1971 as an electronic warfare aircraft, jamming enemy radar and air defenses in Vietnam and in Operation Desert Storm. The EA-6B was later used in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria to jam remote detonation mechanisms on enemy IEDs. 170 EA-6Bs were built, and the aircraft remains in service with the United States Marine Corps to this day.
