A little effort to get a good job.
When this shot arrived I was a bit concerned as the shot was very uneven (flat spots) and there were crevices on almost all of them. In barrel polishing as with hammering, if your shot or hammer surface is marred, your work will be too.I barrelled these with soap before using, but wasn't happy with the result on silver as it had a slightly frosted effect. I then used a fine abrasive paste and barrelled, followed by soap again and the results were good.So why a 4 star review if I have to mess around with them? Barrelling is hands off so it didn't take too much time. Mixed size round shot is expensive and this was around half the price of other stainless shot I had found, so a small amount of inconvenience is nothing.
