Cleans the floor, doesn’t perform miracles
We have had Brian for over a year now, when i bought him it was over 5 payments which was great and I didn’t expect too much from him as he is small and thought surely these little pads cannot clean a floor. It took a few uses for the battery to get a full charge and i find keeping the battery in the charger is better than putting it back in the machine as it would not always complete the clean.First off i scrubbed the floors with the vax machine. Giving Brian a fresh start was only fair to him and in the last year i have given the floors another once over with the vax.All my rooms are pretty square, the kitchen has a butcher block on wheels and a bin to navigate and Brian goes around all four legs with ease and does a very good job. I usually vacuum first, i have a dyson 360 robot or do a quick pass with the battery stick vacuum. Occasionally i only put the duster on Brian and he picks up the dust before i put the cleaning pad on. I haven’t put detergent in him as advised but i notice irobot do sell a liquid. I just squirt a mist of floor cleaner in spaced patches here and there and it works just fine.Brians head vibrates like a sanding machine and i would say he keeps the bathroom spotless but the kitchen which has more traffic and food spills etc he cannot perform miracles. Some things even a mop will struggle so you have to be realistic.Brian works most days with the occasional day off. Sometimes he cleans the kitchen 2 or 3 times in a full day, cleaning often is key to keeping on top of everything. I bought spare reusable pads, irobots own and also another compatible set and they all work well. I was going to buy a spare battery but haven’t had the need really as 2 hours is the recharge time and it fits in well with our lifestyle.I looked at the larger machines but i am glad i bought the smallest one. The pads do get very dirty but if you occasionally have detergent sprayed on the floor and you buy extra cloths to use it everyday it is capable of doing a very good job. These machines keep a clean home clean. They don’t perform miracles.Update: Brian is still going strong, i added an extra battery and more pads. The original battery is still performing as new but the original irobot pads are not as soft as the keepow brand that i also bought at the time of employing Brian. Excellent purchase and highly recommended.

Excellent Robot
For quick automatic floor mopping this is a bargain. It is my second iRobot; I also have the much larger (4x the size, 5x the price) Braava M series J thing? They are both great, so I'll give pros and cons.THIS one (I call a Baby Braava) has the following *strengths*:So much cheaper.Smaller and lighter. Virtually portable. I am thinking to travel with it when staying in cottages with my dogs :-)It actually does a little vibrating scrub which I really think the big brother lacks? Certainly never noticed it. ...so the clean is actually pretty good!It is simpler to use; you plonk it down and hit "clean" and off it goes. (yes need to put a new pad on every once so often and refill the water tank after a couple of room cleans.*Weaknesses* [compared to the super-Braavas M jet seriees]No AlexaIt doesn't do the multiroom mapping thing (you CANNOT go "Baby Braava; clean my Hall" as you can on the big brother). THAT said, my bigger one cannot make it over the little hop from one room to another anyway, so the additional cash is largely waisted.Water tank quite small.Battery has to be removed to re-charge: with the bigger one it returns to base, if it can, and recharges itself which is pretty cool.On balance, to be honest, I think I would recommend this one over the bigger one UNLESS you have a really large floor-space which are totally hard floor and totally flat between different rooms. I have actually never lived in such a place, so 90% of the time I would say, save your cash and get this one!!!

Saves you time and takes no effort
This is a good entry level robot mop.- Let’s be clear. It’s a small device which sprays water, and pushes a micro fibre cloth around, mimicking the three way action of a human mopping. If you want a good clean, you will need to spray some cleaning product on the floor before you set it off. But you can get good results using just water. - This braava jet is much smaller than the roomba: it can get into all sorts of confined areas where you might struggle to reach with an ordinary human powered mop. You can use it in the smallest en suite or in quite large areas.- If you use it on a large area, for best results you can split the task in two, using the ‘virtual wall’ mode. - It DOES work with the iRobot app, if only at a very basic level. You can get access to help information, and a handy ‘spot clean’ function which I don’t think is accessible from the robot alone.- It is worth investing in iRobot washable pads. They are more thorough in action.- Tip: to start with I couldn’t get the water to go in. It should take about 150ml. If that happens to you, tip the device up, as shown in the instructions, and touch the filter with your finger to get the flow going. To sum up: the device is much more fun than mopping the floor yourself, saves you some time, and takes no effort. What’s not to like.
