Shape & Tone With Fitsteps [DVD]

Could be great but...
I purchased this as my second Fitsteps DVD as I had become fairly familiar with the other routines and wanted to change things up a bit. This one certainly gives a better variety of dance styles and would be so fun to do BUT again, as with the other workout, there is no level of instruction and I feel it more important than ever with these routines! While it's informative to know the technical names of dance steps it doesn't mean much when you don't know how to complete the step accurately. A syncopated box step, a ronde, ballet lock...all beautiful and look fantastic but until I'm taught how to do these steps properly I don't know if I'm gaining the toning and shaping benefits this workout claims to provide. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to complete each dance routine flawlessly but it becomes disheartening when, no matter how many times I rewatch the steps and try to replicate them, I'm still not getting it! I have the advantage of a husband who used to compete in Latin American and Ballroom competitions so he can teach me but not everyone has this luxury! Also, as with the other DVD, it's a bit of a muddle when the instructors are facing the camera and I'm either having to dance the mirror image (so I'm on the wrong foot but going to the same side as they are on screen) or go on the right foot but in a seemingly opposite direction. I think this also makes it more difficult to teach myself the steps. As I've suggested before, please please PLEASE Ian and Natalie bring out another DVD with varied dances and split it into an instructional section and a workout section. Would be so appealing to so many more and I would DEFINITELY buy it!

Hugely enjoyable but beginners thrown in at deep end
As someone, who loved dancing as a child, I was keen to try out this DVD and although I haven't yet done all of the routines, all those I have were most enjoyable. You're straight into each routine, though, so have to try to catch up as you go along. I'm looking forward to picking up each routine with more practice but think this will put off many people who might prefer slower, clearer intros. That said, if you're determined, enjoy dancing and don't mind just having a go and getting stuck right in - go for it, you'll have a lot of fun!

Definitely recommend
Definitely recommend. I had the first DVD but lost it, thought I'd try this version. When I saw the menu of dance options the original DVD dances are on this too! Perfect...I was able to try the old routines before trying the new ones and find my dancing feet again. This excersise DVD feels like your having a good time rather than sweating and aching...it's great. I've done many different workouts, clubersise, zumba, rave tone and fitsteps is my favourite.

Slightly disappointed
Work outs seem pretty good but based on the assumption that you have been to a class or done their other dvd I assume. Very little explanation of terms or moves.

Does what I expected and fun to use. Good way to get fit

Perseverance required for beginner
Some routines a bit too fast to be able to pick up steps Perseverance is required from complete beginner's perspective

No instruction or support
Not impressed with this DVD, there is no explanation of moves & steps. I take ballroom & Latin classes & I found these steps hard to follow, someone with no dance knowledge this would be very difficult.

Too fast, not for beginners
So disappointed in this. I'm sure it's great if you already have some dance background. However I'm a complete beginner and couldn't keep track of what I was being asked to do or how to do it.
