Glass Collector Container Bottle - Waterwise 4000 Distiller

The glass container portion is marginal, it does what its supposed to do which is collecting the water from the distiller. However the lid or cover is badly designed engineered. It makes pouring the water clumsy and difficult. The spout on the glass container itself is also badly designed, which means that when you want to pour the water out into another glass contained, or a drinking glass the water stream coming out of the spout separates and causes spills on the table or counter. The most annoying item is the terribly designed plastic cover. Its difficult to take off and difficult to place under the distiller. The spout cover is the worst piece of designing I have ever seen, it barely stays on, it has no hinge, it falls off as its held by mere friction, which itself is ill fitting. I guess your consideration in buying this item is exactly proportional to how much you want to avoid HBP and other industrial chemicals leaching into your water when using a standard plastic collector.

This glass container bottle comes with a plastic cover and handle that is very poorly designed. The original glass container that came with the distiller had a handle mounted on the side and was barely useable (the instructions say not to lift a full jar by the handle or it may break the glass). This replacement container has the same glass jar, but the handle has been moved over the top. Assembled as instructed the handle interferes with the ability to pour the distilled water out. To cover the top there is a bizarre plastic thing composed of three pieces that is totally nonfunctional. The pour spout is covered with a snapped on piece that seems designed to be lost. It has to be fully removed to let the water out. There is an additional hole in the cover intended to match up with the spout on the distiller and is covered with another losable blob of plastic. The fit and finish of this cover is so bad that the first time I used it a gallon of distilled water ended up on the floor. USED AS DESIGNED, THIS COVER DOES NOT WORK! By installing the handle sideways and using the marginally superior cover that came with the original glass container I have been able to get the system to function. I can't believe the manufacturers have ever tried to use the pathetic lid they are marketing with this very expensive container.

The glass collector that came with my distiller was very fragil and broke after 3 months of use. Albeit very expensive, I reordered a replacement and the glass of this replacement container is far more substancial.In order to keep up with our families water comsumtion, I purchased another distiller as overall, I'm please with this product.

Would've been ok, if not for a very flimsy top. Can't make spout cover stay in place, have to use piece of foil to protect from dust. Sounds small, but is really annoting. Doesn't fit. Expected better quality for the price.

This expensive water container smashed within a week of purchase. The metal screw came out of the plastic in the metal ring around the top when I picked it up, full of water. We own a waterwise distiller so not sure what we'll do next.

Wish it were easier to pour without spilling

It is so useful to have an additional container bottle to distill water for daily needs. As a single person, I recommend having two containters.

I purchased a waterwise 4000 when it was supplied with the plastic collector. Later I discovered that theplastic collector had been replaced with one made of glass. I never really liked the plastic versionso I decided to purchase the glass for $60.00, which I thought was very expensive but I wanted the glassso I bought it. What a waste of money! This is one of the most poorly designed products I have ever seen.The handle being on the top makes no sense at all. When you pour the water out you have to grab the handleand the bottom of the collector and pour slowly or the water will go in all directions due to the poorlydesigned spout. The covers that go over the plastic lids spout and the collection hole do not fit properly. Also, when you wash the container in the sink it is best to remove the handle or it's in the way.Waterwise has always had a good reputation for making quality products. I just don't understand how theycould bring a product like this to market and charge $60.00 for it.
