This is sturdy with a great sounding ring! It is definitely heavy but this lends to the feeling of quality. If I need another, I will surely purchase here!

It’s a really beautiful bill and is very good quality. It has a real nice ring that travels far. The only problem I have with it is there are two small nuts on either end of the bolt that holds the mounting bracket and one of them worked it’s way loose within the first week of ringing it. I have a missing cat so I have been ringing it a lot. It fell off and is lost now. I tried to contact the manufacturer to have them send me just the nut, as I do not want to go through the hassle of returning the entire bell and then not having a bell to ring while I wait for another bell. I emailed to see if this nut could be sent, but I got an email back stating to reach out to Amazon for a return. It seems to be a costly method to get me a simple nut! I emailed back again and I am waiting to hear if a nut can be sent out to me. Much cheaper than doing a return of the entire bell and sending me another bell. Those nuts should be screwed on tighter so they don’t come off right away. I hope they will be able to just send me out this nut and I can be done with it. Other than that, I love the bell. I tested it with a refrigerator magnet and it is solid brass.

Love this dinner bell. Timeless ring, nice antique look, easy to install and use. Solid metal, this will probably last longer than me. Kids come running from within a few hundred feet whenever we ring it. The neighbors smile.

This bell makes a loud and clear ring. (Loud and clear unlike cast iron bells, which look nice but don't ring loud enough to be a door bell) It's been mounted in Maine for a year and aside from natural weathering, it looks lovely. You could probably polish it you like, but if you like patinas, don't bother. The mounting is sturdy, graceful and narrow enough to fit on any door jamb. The braided rope stands up to weather, looking new despite a Maine winter.This will make a lovely gift!

I am a long time track and field official and I need a robust sounding bell to indicate the last lap of a multi lap race. Years ago, I bought a larger but smaller gauge bell that worked okay. But recently it cracked and attempts to repair did not work. So I bought the above bell and outfitted with a cylindrical wooden handle. I have just finished the modification project and I have the premium of all track and field bells, now. Thank you so much for producing such a great quality bell.

It really should have lock nuts holding the bell to the mount. The other day I went outside and a nut was missing. They always come loose on their own.
