Works great, but build quality can be improved.
The USB 3.0 90 degree connector works great, but it’s build quality can be improved. After making sure to order the correct one, which is as simple as determining where the key/tab on the plug will go, installation is extremely simple and as intuitive as you’d expect. However, the build quality is not the greatest, so do be careful when plugging in and routing the cable as the entire connector can flex and bend. I plugged the cable into the adapter before plugging it into the motherboard. As for the blue plastic, I carefully measured and cut off a strip of black colored area on the sticker sheet that came with my motherboard and taped it around the top three sides, leaving the bottom side, facing the motherboard, plain (you can’t see it anyways).Overall, I’m pleased with the final result. I just wish it was better built.

Junk and DOA
Only one of the two adapters shown actually arrived.Fortunately it was the one I needed - up facing.Unfortunately I installed it only to discover it didn't work. Then I tried to remove the adapter from the motherboard socket and it immediately fell apart with the black section remaining tightly wedged in the motherboard socket. After over a half hour of careful prying, I finally removed the broken off part. I then tested the motherboard socket and it was working perfectly. This sh*tty adapter was defective and never fit properly.

This might save your bacon!
When you need it, you need it.This was *essential* for completing my desktop build, fitting a ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII motherboard into a Fractal Design Define R5 case. I needed it to attach a front panel USB 3.0 connector to the motherboard. The case has an angled lip that was too close to the motherboard to allow the connection. I had inadvertently bent some of the motherboard pins, trying to attach the cable directly. This adapter did the job, and helped to straighten the bent pins. Very useful. Highly recommended.

Up...or Down? It's one or the other.
First things first, inspect your motherboard layout and identify where the USB 3.0 header goes. Check the notch on your board to determine whether you need an up or down angled adapter. THEY ARE A FIXED DESIGN AND DOES NOT BEND OR "FLIP".You only need this if you require clearance and/or a cleaner build. In my instance, the down-angled adapter works to allow clearance for the cable plugged in as well as fans installed at the bottom of the case (still debating on whether I need the fans at the bottom or not).

Useful if it works
I bought this to use with an asus motherboard and a Fractal Meshify C and quickly learned that most USB header connectors are too long if your case has cable management features. They should have made the piece that connects to the motherboard taller or provide some type of height extenders in the case it was needed. In my case it was unusable even though I would have loved to see it work.

Very brittle
The cable from the case had a retention clip on it. This caused the plastic on the adapter to shatter, but the connection was retained.Very few people make these, and profit margins are very slim. I can understand that the materials would be of lower quality, but it would be good for the seller/manufacturer to include a warning of some kind.

it works, but why blue?
It works, which is good. USB3.0 connectors are just terrible -- big and chunky and fragile. I have a typical setup with the USB3 cable from my case coming in from underneath the motherboard and would normally have to do a 180 degree turn to plug in. this relieves some stress on the cable and the socket, and allows hiding more of the wires. The blue doesn't match; I don't see why both ends can't be black. I put electrical tape over it.

Thin plastic that cracked
Wow tge blue part is so thin that it cracked putting it on the cable. It's a lot longer than what the photo suggests. So it's hitting your hard drive cage and I cannot still install or use my front USB because of my video card.

Works well
Works as intended. Very useful in ultra small form factor builds
