Computer Desk in Beech, Black White Walnut & Oak with 3 Locks for Home Office (Oak Desk 617/1985)

As per previous reviews , make sure you have plenty of space and read the instructions first it will take one person about 2hrs to put together . Quality is average , the handles for the drawers will break if you tighten the screws too much ( 2 of mine have ) as the metal around where screw grips handle is very thin. The magnetic catch the is supposed to hold the door closed is next to useless , it didn't like up with pre drilled marking holes and even after fitting the magnet is so weak in order to get it to catch and hold you have to move the magnet so close that it then fouls the edge of the side panel so wont close properly. Also one of the fixings is impossible to do up when you try to assemble as another panel gets in the way. Better instructions would help those who are not confident with looking at diagrams and if you have an electric screwdriver it will help greatly with assembly .

ordered desk Sunday night, arrived Tuesday mid day . All parts were checked and were perfect. Took 2 1/2 hours to put together, with easy instructions and even photographs of each panel which show how the fittings are fitted. I am a joiner by trade and this desk is quality in every way. It is solid when fitted together and everything lines up nicely. It looks more expensive than the bargain price I paid. All parts are lettered and numbered so you know where all the parts go. quick delivery from western deals , solid packaging with plenty of polystyrene and timber protection to prevent any damage. Overall I am really pleased with the desk and would recommend.

The desk arrived very quickly and was well packaged. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow for my husband who has put together quite a lot of flat-pack furniture and it took him a couple of hours.The desk is lovely, very sturdy and a nice looking piece of furniture. We chose the beech finish and it was a bit lighter than it looked in the picture. The desk was bought for my granddaughter who needs somewhere to sit and do her homework and I have to say she is delighted with it. The drawers and cupboard provide plenty of space for all her stationery, pencils etc. I would certainly recommend this desk. Very good value, I have looked at other more expensive desks that are not as good quality.

Where do I start?-The parts don't line up properly,-The instructions don't match the desk,-The holes for installing the draws weren't in the correct place at all - so high up that the top draw that it overlapped a good few inches with the panel above,-The dimensions didn't match those advertised, the nut things for fastening screws at 90 degrees were flimsy and kept breaking - if they would even fit properly to begin with,-The central draw also overlapped with the top, but that didn't matter because even when I brought it down the damn thing wouldn't stay on the rollers and kept falling off,-I had to break off several panels after assembling the desk just to make it useable,-The handles are awful and the locks are uselessThis is by no means an exhaustive list of the problems I have with this desk. I wish I'd gone with something of higher quality instead of taking the risk on this kind of cheap Chinese tat.

Whilst this is a quality desk when built it was disappointing to arrive with damage (see pic) IMO the packer must have seen this gouge in the product but as it was an end panel I persevered with the absolutely horrendous instructions, you need to love building flatpack to get through these as they're more like not so subtle hints than instructions! Would I recommend the desk - yes, would I buy it again to spend 3 hours building it - no chance

GOOD quality, looks great, plenty of storage. One tiny thing the lock on the center long draw could be better, this does not take away the desk quality. Excellent desk worth as good as a more expensive one. Easy 5 :-*:-*:-*:-*:-*

Delivered in good condition. Wording on instructions has been translated badly so hard to understand in parts. I contacted seller to make them aware. We got there in the end! End product looks nice and the handles make it look smart. Sturdy desk.
