Cholesterol Monitor Blood Measuring Meter Starter Monitoring Test Kit

To use this device one needs to have bottles of glucose and cholesterol control solution to calibrate the machine before use. Kit does NOT contain said control solutions. Was a bit miffed about that. What's the point of a kit one cannot use!!!So... in the last couple of days I have spent hours trying to track bottles of appropriate solutions being informed that only WELLION control solutions can be used. However it appears to be impossible to get them.I tiried Amazon, Ebay, the Amazon seller I bought from, The Amazon seller's shop, Boots, Superdrug... Lloyds Pharmacy.. local pharmacies and in desperation... the manufacturer in Austria. There are none to be had. This means one cannot callibrate the meter so results may well not be correct or in any way accurate. There are two cholesterol test strips and one has to be used to use control (which does not exist) so a very expensive waste of money. In the meantime I bought a replacement pack of 10 strips feeling confident I would be able to get the control solutions. This makes the whole exercise bin worthy. I have a limited income and have thrown away nearly £40! NOT IMPRESSED! I notice that same Amazon marketplace seller sells a kit that looks identical.. is around £43 and DOES contain bottles of control solution. Therefore why sell this one at all???? Instruction book does say "You will have bottles of solution" WRONG. However the advert does not mention them but does not say you need them either!! GRRRRRRRR! Forewarned is fore-armed. I will now have to buy a different meter and whatever I need with it. That's over a week's worth of my income! :(

Ok, first thing, like the other reviews if you're using this for cholesterol, then buy another pack of tests to go with this. Even after reading the instructions, you will use the two supplied strips workout out your routine. For those of us not used to drawing blood with a lancet there is an unnecessary fear until you've done it a few times.... additionally you need to apply the blood to the right place on the strip, and the strip has to be in the device, powered on, and you have a limited time before the device powers off and the strip won't work a second time.That said, once I'd done it a few times, it was very simple, and I got a result which matched my recent blood test.Obviously your not going to get HDL and LDL results, just a total, but this a great guide, just remember to do it in a fasted state, so first thing in the morning should be fine.Nice neat little device, simple to use after a few goes and perfect for those that want to keep an eye on levels between their blood tests. Currently doing a keto diet, so just want to make sure all that fat isn't having an impact..... so far not.

Possibly because I was so excited to use the meter, I made the mistake of putting my hard-earned blood eagerly on the test strip then putting it in the end of the meter and couldn`t work out why I kept getting an E1 error code (contaminated strip).What I should have done is to put the blank test strip in the meter and THEN put my blood on the end ... whilst the strip is still in the meter.Once I`d sorted that bit out, the unit is so easy to use although I now realise how high both my glucose and cholesterol levels have got but that`s another problem.

This product is to say perfect .Helps me to monitor accurately .

I read the instructions all the way through before using the machine and ended up getting very confused about the control solution testing, which I could not do as the control solution was not included and I couldn’t find to buy it.However the Company had emailed me directly to see if I needed any help with anything, and when I contacted them they were very helpful. However I did mess up two testing strips first by not understanding the instructions properly, and then by not putting enough blood on the strip. It takes a lot more blood than a blood glucose test does.Now I have all that sorted the machine is easy to use. I have discovered that both my cholesterol and blood sugar are within normal limits, which makes me happy.Worth getting if you find going to the doctors difficult for any reason, or if like me you are healthy but like to keep an eye on things.
