Great UPS device
Works well. I am very pleased especially since yesterday, prior to writing this review, the power flickered off four times in a row while we were under a tornado warning. I didn't realize the weather was that bad and was still on my desktop. I lost nothing, it stayed on, and didn't skip a beat. I shut down and saved everything smoothly. I also like the LED display window that tells you how it is doing and what the load is. THAT is very helpful in determinig expectations for what you are protecting.

Well done Liebert!
This is our third. The first one had connectivity issues with the computer and did not recharge. So let me say that the Customer Service is terrific! When I called, the agent was awesome! She went through simple break fix procedures and we found that it did not meet her test. She told me to hold on while she gets the replacement paperwork ready...just like that. I think it took a few days to arrive. As a consumer, of the things I want to do...waiting around dealing with issues and customer service is not one of them. It wasn't even a test, and they PASSED!Now, for my review of the product, read below:The Liebert PST5 UPS (850VA/500W 120V) is an excellent choice for those looking for a reliable, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with added features. The unit is well-designed, featuring an LCD monitoring screen allowing easy tracking of power status and system diagnostics. This makes it extremely user-friendly, especially when quick information access is crucial. One of the big features of this UPS is its dual capability of providing both surge protection and battery backup. The availability of eight outlets split equally between surge-only and battery & surge protection offers great flexibility. Additionally, two of these outlets are widely spaced, which is a thoughtful design choice accommodating larger transformer-block plugs without obstructing adjacent outlets. I have no problem plugging in all the stuff I need plugged in. Just ensure you size it appropriately so you are not drawing more power than this UPS is rated for. Look at the aggregate total of everything that would be turned on simultaneously. I say that because people overlook this important step when purchasing UPS.Ask yourself these things as you're searching:* What is the total amount of power I am backing up?- A computer, 2 monitors, lights TV,...anything you will have plugged in to protect at the same time.* How long do I need in order to do a stateful shutdown (properly turn off my PC, etc) when the power goes off?Another plus is that it includes TEL/NETWORK data line protection (RJ45/11), which offers peace of mind by protecting sensitive data lines from surges. This is particularly valuable for those who manage network equipment and telecommunications.Energy efficiency is another strong point of the Liebert PST5. Its Energy Star certification ensures that it meets stringent eco-friendly requirements, making it a good choice for the environmentally conscious consumer. This efficiency does not compromise its performance, providing reliable power backup and protection. The three-year warranty, which covers the full unit, including the battery, is very generous. The advanced replacement warranty included in this package indicates the manufacturer's confidence in the product and adds an extra layer of security for the investment.Overall, the Liebert PST5 UPS is a robust, efficient, and feature-rich option that provides excellent value for anyone in need of dependable power protection and backup solutions. It is particularly suited for home office setups, small businesses, or any environment where power interruptions are a concern.

The 850VA works well with my my desktop PC, 500VA for TV and DVR
The 850VA works well with my my Win-10 desktop PC and gives me about 8 minutes of run-time, starting shut-down of my PC at about 6 minutes.Wanted something to keep my rig running for a short time during short power outages and which shuts down my desktop PC automatically if the power is out more than a few minutes.I Hhave the UPS connected to my Win-10 desktop PC: 800 Watt power supply, 64GB RAM, 8GB GPU Card, two 24 inch monitors , a KVM switch, a 7-port USB hub, illuminated keyboard and mouse, and two Wi-Fi routers (two different ISPs).I followed the instructions and downloaded the software to manage automatically shutting down my PC if the power stays off more than a few minutes. This seems to shut down my PC when the battery power gets down to 15% , but there are no options for setting the action when it hits 50% or another number the user may prefer.Great product at a good price which Will help protect my PC from a hard shut downs due to short power outages. The 500VA gives me about 12 minutes if run-time with my 55inch TV and DVR. For short power outages this eliminates the nearly ten minute reboot of the DVR.

UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED
I've owned this product since December 2022. 9 months as of this review. After setting this up in my workstation, at some point I noticed that plugs pushed into the backup power receptacles no longer met the usual resistance a plug normally meets when being inserted into a power outlet. "Hmm, I'll have to check that out" I said to myself, then promptly forgot about it.Fast forward to September 2023: during a local wildfire emergency the power goes out, but I REALLLY need my Starlink modem powered up to stay informed so I decide to pop the outlet cover to see what's what. I Unplug the unit (yes, it's been plugged in for 9 months), switch to zero power output and pop the cover. What I found was, as in picture: the bus bars (of flimsy thin-gauge materiel) are only press-fit into the receptacle housing AND APPARENTLY THE VERY ACT OF INSERTING AND REMOVING PLUGS CAUSED THEM TO DISCONNECT FROM THEIR HOUSING. So I've had live, 120V. bus bars hanging, unsecured, in close proximity to each other for all these months in my home. That this thing didn't start a fire is a minor miracle frankly. But it gets better, by which I mean it gets worse: As I stated there was a wildfire emergency and I needed connectivity, so I jury rigged a connection to my modem (don't try this at home) out of necessity and it worked as expected, powering the modem FOR ALL OF 15 MINUTES UNTIL THE BATTERY DRAINED TO ZERO.Now I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I can tell you from first hand inspection that whatever the word for "robust design" is, this unit is best described as the opposite of that word. Also, my brain is not large, and maths are hard, but I know the equation "Starlink X 660VA = 15 minutes" makes no sense at all.So, to sum up, if you need a unit that might burn your house down while you are away, plus gives you just enough time, if you're quick, to properly shut down your equipment before it literally runs out of gas then this may be the unit for you.
