the cloud logging works fantastic and allows us to pull massive reports of data
After seeing all the reviews, decided to write one, as i think the 1 stars are kind of unjust, because it "needs" wifi to work is not the products failure, it is advertised that is how it works. that being said, i run 5-7 of these in my warehouse to make sure temperatures are where they should be in freezers, ovens, and rooms. i have had ZERO issues with any of the devices i have received so i'm not sure what people are complaining about, the cloud logging works fantastic and allows us to pull massive reports of data. As far as i'm concerned, these work exactly how they were designed to.

So far, so good
I cannot (fortunately!) confirm the terrible experiences described in the two older reviews. I have owned one of these now for a bit over a month and, so far, it functions exactly as advertised. The firmware has, I believe, been updated this year, and this may have contributed, but I found setup and use with the supplied software entirely straightforward.I cannot help wondering whether the first reviewer ran into a behavior that is well-described in the documentation, but might well cause you trouble I you hadn't paid attention to this. If the network connection fails for any reason, the sensor goes into a mode in which it wakes up every 15 minutes and tries to reconnect. In the intervening time it may well appear to have 'died', but data is being stored and will be transmitted when it does finally reconnect.Contrary to the second reviewer's experience, I have exchanged a number of emails about specific application details with the folks at Lascar Electronics, and have received intelligent and helpful replies. At this point it gets four stars from me, and would get 5 if there were a published API to allow it to be accessed from other software.

sucks. It's great for logging temperature and humidity data
This device, to be blatant, sucks. It's great for logging temperature and humidity data, that is if you can guarantee a wifi connection at all times. I brought this device to Haiti to study new medical storage devices, and the device lost over half of my data in the cloud because of what the company told me is a "firmware bug." AKA, I needed an update of the firmware software. The company did not offer to reimburse me, and I experienced awful customer service - the representative I talked to kept insisting it is my fault that the data was lost, despite the fact that the manual assures users that ALL data will be saved on the cloud as long as the device remains on/the battery charged.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! use a different brand.

Not a stable product
When the data file is converted into text file it shows future dates. Also, the sampling rate changes automatically.

Excellent product for wine cellar Temperature and Humidity logging
Product arrived as advertised. I am using it to measure temperature and humidity in a wine cellar via WiFi connection. Installation is straight forward and the WiFi sensor software has all the information I need to remotely monitor temperature and humidity reading. So far I am very pleased with the purchase. I logged a support call with Lascar Electronic and 3DL Industries to inquire about receiving text or e-mail alerts when the temperature exceeds predefined level.[...][...]

1 year in...works as advertised
My experience with this product over the year that I've owned it has been positive and I have no problems recommending it to others. I've never lost any data and in the year that it's been in use, it's only been recharged twice. I have the unit configured to take readings every 30 minutes and report data every 3 hours, so that gives, for me, adequate battery life and data.I did recently encounter a problem with the software that I'll contact Lascar about...I can no longer view data in the "Data View" screen, it causes an error. The data is still recorded in a CSV file which I import in to Excel, but I miss being able to view directly. The problem seemed to occur after I installed Adobe Creative Cloud software, so perhaps it updated some system file that is incompatible with the Lascar software.Cheers!

failure to launch
this looks like a very useful tool. But it wants me to sign up for a cloud account. I do not give my personal information out to a cloud. My old one transmits directly to my house, but only in real time. I can see the advantages to having a24 hour graft so adjustments can be made. A hookup directly to my computer was not given as an option. I'll hold on to it in case someone's grandson comes over, but I remain disappointed.
