Hi Robyn, there are 48 sheets per book.

Q: does it lay flat when open?

Mine is miserably rigid and fights to stay closed

Q: Do alcohol based markers blend well on this paper?

Yes, this is hands down the best paper I've found for alcohol based markers. I use Copics and this paper is a dream come true. I've tried dozens and dozens of brands and types of paper, and nothing else comes close.

Q: Can the pages be easily ripped/torn out? I like to be able to display my individual drawings, so I need to be able to remove pages without them ripping. Are they easily removable/do they have any kind of perforation?

They do sell spiral bound versions of these sketchbooks which you can remove the pages from and just cut down the edge. For anyone who needs or wants to display individual pages of artwork, that's probably their best bet.

I used very juicy and staining markers and it didn't bleed at allBut it does not lay flat at all especially with this size
