It is heavy and wearable. Exactly what it is.
The vest came much quicker than I expected and in great condition. I am average build, (slightly smaller at 5'8) and it fits pretty well. I would have wanted it slightly smaller, but you can't cut much more off the vest. It's pretty comfy for extended wearing and moving compared to other vests I have used, however I am still a little hesitant to work out in more populated areas with it becuase it gives the body armor vibe.

Exactly what I was looking for
Needed this to start training for the fire academy. It’s absolutely perfect and the weight is very easily adjustable. Just make sure you have help putting it on the first time it almost took me out.

Feels totally comfortable for a weighted vest
This vest is a really good buy, training for USMC Recon calls for being able to hike many miles with a large amount of weight on you and this does the trick only had it for a couple of days but it looks and feels great for a weighted vest I bought the one without the shoulder pads and yes it digs into your shoulders but its 80lbs constantly pulling down on you. It isn't supposed to be a cake walk. Anyway if you need a good budget vest. Get this one, works like a charm and fits great for a 5'9" 170lbs male.

Not Ideal for Weight Lifting
I love weight training, but have multiple injuries to one of my arms so cannot even grip a dumbbell for the next 6 months. I thought no problem... I'll just focus on legs. But not being able to hold dumbbells is limiting even for the leg workouts. Thus, I bought this vest. I thought I'd just throw it on and be able to do weighted leg workouts galore. Alas... the result was less than what I'd hoped. For reference I bought the 80 lbs. version of this vest.--- Pros ---1. The vest looks/works exactly as advertised. The vest is attractive in appearance.2. It arrived in two boxes and good condition. One box had the vest with 5 of the weight inserts already inserted. The other box held the remaining weights. The weight inserts are 8 lbs each; they're effectively long sand bags.3. It takes a bit to get used to how the vest works, but once I figured it out it was easy enough.4. The velcro was high quality and easy to adjust. It held everything together nicely.5. The vest was overall comfortable... at least when just standing and wearing it (more on this later).--- Cons ---6. I normally do leg exercises holding up to 40 lbs dumbbells, so I figured the 80 lbs model was right for me. You have no idea how difficult it is to wield and wear an 80 lbs vest, and how vastly different this is from dumbbells. With the dumbbells, each hand is dealing with a solid, balanced, 40 lbs. object designed to be held. With the vest, you have this large, awkward material thing holding 80 lbs mounted around it. It's not designed to be held/lifted, so you're lifting 80 lbs at once with one hand (think about how you would put a vest on) and it's no solid/balanced but awkward and moving as you're trying to hold it. It's difficult to nearly impossible just to get on. I tried this with 60, and then 40 lbs. It was doable at 40, but still very difficult.7. 80 lbs on your torso is VERY different than 40 lbs in each hand.8. The vest itself fits very well, but with the weights the overall contraption is HUGE. The sandbags plus vest stick out nearly 3 inches on each side... so you have 6 inches of vest sticking out of you front to back. It's much larger than you think it's going to be.9. For any runners let me just say this would be near impossible... at least anywhere near this weight. I tried just running a few feet and the vest comes up and down on your shoulders with incredible force.10. While the vest fit well and was easy enough to adjust with the velcro, I kept looking at that velcro sideways wondering how long it would last and what I'd do when it did stop functioning well (as all velcro eventually does).11. The vest is sized well and reasonably short. That said, because of where the weight sits it was nearly impossible to do any exercises where you need to bend over. Imagine bending over with 80 lbs on your upper torso pushing you down... Unfortunately, there go my leg workouts. The only workouts I could do with this thing on (at least at 40 lbs and up) was with my torso straight upright.I feel a bit bad because the product otherwise seemed well made. It just, at least at this weight level, wasn't a suitable vest for weight training. I could see at 10, 20, maybe even 30 lbs with narrower sand bags this thing really hitting the spot.

More comfortable than one would suspect. Hard to change weights and to don
I am very satisfied with this weighted vest. The weights are 8 lb tubes of some heavy granular substance (reclaimed uranium mine tailings, perhaps?) The stitching is rugged. The tubes fit very snugly into sewn columns, five each on front and back. They are easy to add and remove, but it takes more than a few seconds.I did not need to use the shoulder pads, as it is quite comfortable, even when fully weighted at 80 lbs.The hardest part about using the vest is donning it when it is fully weighted. I lay it with the vest facing down on a low counter, with the back of the vest on top of the front. I lean down and lift the back portion over my head, inserting my head between front and back and then let the back slide down my neck and along my back then stand up.Update 2/25/21 - After using the vest regularly (3 x week) for doing pushups, squats, lunges and deadlifts, the velcro on both the right and left straps has already worn out. I have had to tie a rope around the vest as a stop-gap measure to keep it secured, especially for any movement where my torso faces downwards.

It works as advertised, too bad there is no hip belt to distribute the load better
This product works as advertised.I bought the 80lb vest. The vest is properly balanced in that it does not dig in anywhere. Instead it just pushes you down at the shoulders. Because I am not strong the vest really weighs me down. A hip belt, like what back packs have, to shift some weight to the hips, would probably have been very helpful.Separately, the product arrived missing 1 of its 10 weights. I wrote to the seller and they immediately sent me the missing weight. I appreciated the service.
