This review is going to mention a condition related to a disability, as it is used for that condition.I have a syndrome that causes my joints to dislocate easily, and is so severe it has left me unable to use my shoulders. It also causes me to fall often. I literally have no way to get up off the floor if I fall, because I can't use my arms to get up in fear of dislocation.This belt is the answer of my dreams. My husband sits me up, put the belt behind me, and just gently leans back, allowing the motion to help me lift myself up off the floor.It is safe for me, as it is extra wide so it distributes the weight along my back instead of my joints, so no dislocations. It is a safe way for my husband to lift me and not get hurt.I have had no complaints about this belt. No slipping, no pressure spots, etc.I love this medical supply company as well. I have purchased many items from them and will continue to do such, as their products are high quality.

Returned as it didn't work for us -- but think it would be helpful assist for medical patients.

Decent quality. The user needs muscle to pull the affected individual to a sitting or standing position. Do recommend would purchase again but might attempt to find a more economical one. This one is a bit costly for us seniors.

This product is exactly as advertised and is made of solid materials. The multiple handles are important and effective. No complaint about the product so it gets 5 stars. However, one caution: The person being lifted needs to be able to take a fair amount of focused pressure that is at the angle depicted. If the person being lifted is frail or has weakness in part of either lower extremity or if the infirmity requires altering the angle of lift during the lift transition to standing, then this product could be problematic. But that is not an issue with the product itself, which lives-up to the manufacturer's representations.

This transfer sling seems to be a little better quality than some others out there. I like the fact that it has multiple handles for the lifter to use, and also some non-slip dots on the surface. There is also an adjustable belt that can be used for more secure lifting. I tested it to lift my mom up, and it worked with less wear-and-tear on my back. When I tried it, I used a pair of handles closer to the patient - which handles are used might depend on the circumstances and the leverage needed.

I was able to truly test this product this evening when I had to lift my 90 year old mother sitting on the floor to a standing position. The sling was easy to use and the handles gave me good support and leverage to stabilize her as I pulled her up to standing. I was quite surprised it worked as well as it did and I also did not feel any strain on my back when I pulled her up. It was very helpful to have this sling for emergency situations like tonight. Just to mention, I actually did not wrap the sling around her body and over the arms as the product picture shows, but placed it under her arms. I felt this helped and leverage and grip as I pulled her up.
