amazing. This game ranks as one of the best ...
In a word, amazing. This game ranks as one of the best games I have played on Xbox, and potentially on any platform. In its genre, it certainly has some of the best gameplay, and while (from what I hear) it may not have the best storyline of Metal Gear games, I found the plot to be compelling while dark at times. While I never played any Metal Gear games prior to the Phantom Pain, the stellar reviews compelled me to at least learn a little bit about the storyline. After a brief overview of the pre-existing plotline, I decided to delve into the franchise to see what it was all about. This game caught my attention around two years ago when I first saw trailers about this "open-world stealth game," but I had not got the chance to purchase the game until recently. For under $30, this game is a steal.Gameplay:As someone who loved playing RPGs including greats like Skyrim, this game brings a whole new twist. There are a number of viable strategies to completing every mission, and while free roam is not as rewarding as true open world games such as Skyrim or Fallout, the main storyline and side-ops should have you covered for plenty of hours of gameplay, not to mention trying to achieve the highest rank on every mission. Something I did not learn until completing the main storyline is that the computer generated enemies actually adapt to your style of play, meaning they will start deploying with equipment to specifically counter your favorite strategies, which is crazy. Overall, the depth of the gameplay is unmatched, and requires both planning and split second decision making.Storyline:Although at many times very complicated and difficult to follow, the storyline is overall exciting and engrossing. For someone knowing only a bit of the backstory of many of the characters, it was already very interesting to see their characters develop, and I imagine for long time fans, it must be another great game. Although the story is a dark and serious one, there are great points of comic relief. And do remember to listen to the cassette tapes. While this game is more than a couple years old now, to be able to get all this content for $20 is amazing. While the online components pale in comparison to the main game, it really is a game that makes you want to keep coming back. This package also includes Ground Zeroes, a sort of prequel, which is interesting to play, and I would recommend playing before the Phantom Pain.

Wish they added something special :(
For those that have not gotten the MGS V series before, this is good value for your money as everything comes in one disc. But if you had purchased any of the games before, this is not for you as it contains the same missions from the base game and nothing special added except you just want to collect it and keep in your shelf.

Smooth transition to a new style of Metal Gear
I'm one of those older gamers who can remember "renting" a physical copy of the original Metal Gear on NES. But I will be honest and say I haven't been that interested in the series since Metal Gear Solid on PS years ago. When I heard that V is taking on a whole new perspective and style of gameplay, I had to try it out and I'm glad I did. This game is more of an open world game and has a huge amount of depth compared to the previous Metal Gear Solid games that relied on the gamer playing through the game 4-5 times just to be satisfied. I have 72 hours in this game and still haven't finished it. If you're deciding between buying this version and the regular Metal Gear Solid V, it does come from Ground Zeroes which isn't anything special, it's more or less a tutorial on how to play and it comes with a few item/weapon skins. I went with this version since I wanted to make sure I understood how the game works and would pick this version, for the little higher price, if I was buying it again.

awesome cinematics, and crazy twisty stories that would leave ...
Ground zeroes AND Phantom Pain with the add-ons in one package!? Hell yes! I confess, I first bought PP on PS4 (MGS is the reason I've bought PlayStation since MGS2) but when I got a Xbox One (because in this day and age, why should you choose between Xbox and PlayStation) I thought to myself, "Gee, the first time I played this I was aimless, let me try it fresh" so low and behold, I stepped back into the world of freaky boss fights, awesome cinematics, and crazy twisty stories that would leave me scratching my head and replaying it until my fingers bleed.
