Master Lock Cable Lock, Set Your Own Combination Bike Lock, 6 ft. Long, Black, 8122D

The mount was useless for me - my top bar is oval. I tried the seat post but it slid down and got damaged by the back tire of my Mt. Bike. So I coil it around the top bar and it's fine. It's a pretty thick cable. I feel safe with it. And the combo is both secure and easy to change.

This bike lock works! Had someone in Portland, Oregon try (and failed) to steal my bike (see pic). First, they attempted to cut the cable (Fail) and then they tried to torque the combination part off with a wood rod (Epic Fail). Picture shows what was left after their poor attempts.

This is the best example of why this lock is worth it- came down this morning and found the lock shattered but still locked- kept my bike safe!Worth every penny

This is a nice heavy cable and lock -.... BUT -... I found that it has an attachment feature to the frame that is too easily triggered.In other words - if you use this feature - there is a good chance your lock cable assembly could be lost while chugging along. I discarded it right away and Dremel cut off corresponding piece attached to the cable. (Maybe Master Lock can revisit this nice idea with a MUCH BETTER FASTENING IDEA.!)Double Thumbs Up Overall !!!! Well Worth the money but Beware !!

Works great, easy to reset the code! It's a bit twisted up and stuck in the coiled-up shape it came in, but I'm sure it can be loosened over time. Does the job and is sufficiently long and sturdy.

Good lock for my bike

Unfortunately it’s a really good lock as it’s not easily cut. Would be very difficult to steal anything it locks up… However when it fails to open that’s not helpful!Bought this for my daughter to use while in Atlanta. Right away, we changed the code so she would be able to remember one she established. You attest the side dial and set the new code. We did that and tested the new code several times before locking up her bike.The next day I put the lock together and locked up her bike. She was able to unlock it herself and rode to a local Target. When she arrived, she called me and asked if I had difficulty putting the lock back together when I used it, I said no, although it was a bit “stiff”. I told her to push it together and that should be fine. She did eventually, locked the bike, and went into the store. When she came out, she could not open the lock. She tried several times and it would not unlock despite having unlocked for me, and for her. She asked for help, tried lubricating it (since it was stiff), and nothing would work. The lock would not open.She asked for help from Target employees and security. Even though they could not get it open. They tried cutting it with typical bolt cutters and it could not be cut. It took a locksmith to open it and they used specialized cutting tools.So while this is a great lock that is not easily cut, I am having a hard time giving it more than one star because she used it three times before it wouldn’t open. It’s being returned.
