It is what it is -- psyllium -- only psyllium -- and that's what it ought to be.
It's psyllium, in a bag, to make alimentary operations more commodious. In all honesty, absent the operational necessity, I'd be happy to do without it. No reflection on this brand. The product and packaging are fine -- the bag opens and closes easily, the closure seal protects the powder from ambient moisture, and delivery was expeditious. Why buy it? Because it's psyllium-- just psyllium, unflavored, unsweetened, unadulterated. I probably wouldn't be purchasing it online if I could get it where I get my ibruprufen and toilet paper, but although there are miles of aisles of hydrophilic powders in the groceries and pharmacies, all of them are loaded with sugars or artificial sweeteners and various pseudo-fruity flavoring.Apparently the general public doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to confront its fiber directly, like grown ups. It's fiber, people! Mensch up! (Is there a way to say mensch up that doesn't imply gender?) It doesn't taste like anything, just put it in water, mix it, swallow it, and get on with your lives! Sheesh.

Works every time to get that colon moving
I take a daily probiotic, but sometimes if I have too much dairy (or not enough veggies), I get a little backed up. I don’t like to take over-the-counter aids as they are filled with a bunch of stuff we don’t need. The active ingredient to get your colon moving is psyllium husk. Why take all the other stuff? I have been using this for six months when I need it and it works like a charm. I typically do 1 to 2 teaspoons mixed with very little water just because it gets gelatinous quite quickly and is a little unsettling on the palate. I shake it in a glass bottle as I have found it’s the quickest way to mix it up. I’m telling you by the next day, second day tops, you will get moving. And it won’t be explosive, it is a normal BM. It has never failed me. Not once.

Very good Psyllium Husk Powder
Was a Metamucil user for years but wanted to cut back on sugar and unnessesary ingredients. Tried Anthony's and was impressed by the quality of the powder. Can be mixed with water and drank as is but just a FYI it takes on a gel consistency pretty quickly and tastes like muddy water. Currently I mix in a shaker with a packet of Super Greens Mixed Berry powder and it tastes pretty decent. One power drink a day is all it takes. We tried baking with it and although it made a beautiful bread, but unless you like eating bread that you dropped in the sand at the beach I wouldn't reccommend. Very gritty.

Beware - this is fine powder, not raw psyllium husk
I got fooled, and this product is non-returnable. The bag has "psyllium husk" in bold white letters, followed by "powder" in black letters. I wanted the more coarse psyllium husk because it seems to make sense if you want to add a fibrous component to your diet to scrub the digestive tract. I'm not looking for another soft gel/paste in my diet. It is tiring to have to parse carefully every online purchase description, and so we consumers tend to rely on a return policy for most items on Amazon. I did not notice that there is no return allowed for this product, which is unusual for Amazon. So it is a perfect storm of a product description that is easily confused with another (raw psyllium husk) and a strict no-return policy. Where is the artificial intelligence bot that should swoop in and alert us to be careful with such purchases? Nope, that might hurt Amazon's bottom line. We're on our own here. Otherwise, it appears to be a good quality product, well packaged.(Update after using the product) The product seems high quality, well packaged, and if you like psyllium husk powder, a good deal. Personally, I have learned I hate psyllium husk powder compared to "whole" psyllium husk. It just doesn't dissolve uniformly in water but rather clumps into big globs that won't break up. It also clumps on the utensil you are stirring with and is a hassle to get loose. I have yet to find a way to dissolve it in water. Maybe a blender would do it, but I'm not going to add that cleaning chore to my routine. In contrast, whole psyllium husk, with a little effort, can be vigorously stirred into water fairly easily. Both whole and powder make a jelly-like mixture if you use enough, but the whole husk has a texture more like pulpy orange juice that I prefer.Let me note: the water in my area is very hard and may contribute to the issue. I have noticed with whole psyllium husk that when traveling where the local water is low-mineral, the husk does not cling to the glass nearly as much and seems to wash off easily. In my home, cleaning the glass with either formulation requires a scrub brush or sponge. The psyllium, at home, clings like heck to glass. So maybe you won't have the clumping problems with this powder product. But for me, this powder is practically useless for making a drink. Maybe I can mix it with whole psyllium and make it work. Otherwise, I have a lot of bags of psyllium powder, and wasted money, headed for the trash.

Quality product
Works well and it's ground finely making it mix easier. I really like the clean ingredients! Just pure psyllium husk without the added garbage that seems to be in all the other products in the stores.

Really like this brand!
I have tried psyllium before but this one by far is my favorite one yet. It is a very fine powder and I have tried it several ways. In a large cup with water added....doing it this way made it very clumpy and hard to thoroughly dissolve and it stuck to the spoon. I did recently get a small smoothie type blender and this method works really well. I first add the water or whatever liquid you prefer and then add the powder and everything dissolves and blends perfectly. Be sure to drink it quickly as it becomes very thick and gelatinous. I am very happy with this purchase....I just ordered a second bag. I sometimes even add wheatgrass powder to this smoothie mixture....(definitely an acquired taste)

Quality and affordable
A very reasonable price for an organic, vegan product. I love the fact that it has no additives and is unflavored. I use it daily - one teaspoon in a glass of water or juice. Very good alternative to Metamucil.
