Makita 195239-9 Dust Collecting Hood for 115mm and 125mm Angle Grinders

I cant believe how this simple device is so effective. I was originally put off by the price but my concerns with dust in the workplace meant I had to do something. What I wasn't expecting was how effective this product would be, I was hopeful it would reduce the dust but I am move than a little impressed how its reduced dust to a negligible amount. I use this with fibre sanding disc to clean old floor tile adhesive from wooden floors and its probably my best loved acquisition of the year. The brush skirt and removable front to allow close to the edge use are important features but the real magic is Makita have the spring tension spot on keeping the brush skirt on contact at all times. Worth every penny.. and you owe it to your health to get one.

I thought it is rather expensive, however, worth it for the dust it collects, I would say it collects 99.9% of the dust and debris, providing you have a really good suction on your vacuum machine.

Used for grinding my garage floor for epoxy painting, did what it was meant to and kept the dust down

Used angle grinder and started to remove old tile adhesive off conservatory floor and with a minute had a dust chamber, could not see anything so had to stop. Was not sure if this hood would really work or if it was worth the cost. This item is fantastic when used with Vacuum and correct disc, no dust. Even used it on brick wall, again no dust. However my vacuum over heated and the motor burnt out so had to get new vacuum and did the remain floor in sections.

I have come to the conclusion that I should only buy from reputable brands on Amazon now. No matter how well reviewed a product supposedly is, I regularly find that the non-branded items are simply rubbish. This product from Makita is quite pricey, but absolutely worth it, as it ACTUALLY WORKS as intended.

This attachment is really for flat surface cleaning and not really for channelling.There is a section that is removeable for channelling but only for something no bigger than 10mm though I'm not sure you are suppose to do this as the attachment is designed to seal around the blade/disc to prevent any debris from flying out.It does reduce the dust debris but it must be attached to an dust extractor.Expensive attachment.

Absolutely brilliant! The amount of dust that escapes this hood is minimal. Yes you need a good vac but what was feared to be very messy job turned out a little bit dusty one.
